Artspace by Apartment One

Artspace believes that great art should be available to everyone, regardless of experience or geography. Catherine Levene (former COO of DailyCandy) and Christopher Vroom (founder of Artadia: The Fund Art and Dialogue) partnered to build an online contemporary-art marketplace that easily allows art lovers to become art collectors.

We developed the core brand identity, e-commerce website, print and marketing collateral, and consumer packaging. We sought to create a visual language that conveyed sophistication and refinement while remaining accessible–and a framework to showcase the art, not compete with it. The result: a largely black palette infused with a neon pink that brings vibrancy and modernism to the brand.

We collaborated with our user-experience partner Tamara Adlin to develop a strong engaging customer-driven online experience. We utilized this foundation to develop the interaction and front-end design for the website, including custom features like the “view in a room” application.

Artspace has been featured in Tech Crunch,, Huffington Post, Forbes, Fast Company, and other notable publications.
