De La Montagne Hotel by Simon Langlois
De La Montagne Hotel is a concept by Canadian designer Simon Langlois. It is based on the following idea:
‘Two years ago, I worked as a housekeeper in a hotel. While cleaning the room at the end of the guests’ stay, one of the guilty pleasures of my colleagues and I was to search indiscreetly through the room and to look for any remnants that had been left behind (invoices, notes, grocery lists, drafts of letters). Then we imagined the story of the guest’s stay.
De La Montagne tells a story through a collection of printed pieces presented in a plastic pocket. This assemblage of clues and photos allows the viewer to reconstruct the scenario of the guest’s stay in Room 1208.’
