Devised by renowned Singaporean design studio Foreign Policy as a public continuation of their internal ‘Bootcamp Fridays’ programme, the FP Summer School Bootcamp is a series of online masterclasses, workshops and talks with industry-leading creatives from a variety of backgrounds. “We were picking up new skills and learning some new stuff since the pandemic started,” Foreign Policy’s Principal Yah-Leng Yu tells us, “this year we decided we could expand this idea and share it with the rest of the [design] community.”

Running between July 12 and August 11 2021, the pilot programme features everything from lessons in bilingual typography with Meat Studio’s Ronald Tau to a series of three masterclasses in branding with Yah-Leng Yu herself. Foreign Policy hopes that attendees will leave the online classes with fresh insights, tips and tools for self-growth, as well as new ideas from different cultures – something that’s been harder to come across throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. “Since this is the first time we are doing this, we wanted to start a little bit small and make sure we don’t kill ourselves,” Yu concludes, with an eye out for expanding the Bootcamp further in the future.
