Hotel Peter & Paul is the result of a four-year restoration of the former Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church and school in the New Orleans neighbourhood of Marigny. The historic location now has 71 hotel rooms and a restaurant, bar, courtyard and event space, with a carefully considered narrative applied to each, meaning that no two spaces feel the same.

The identity, designed by New York and Paris-based designer Alizée Freudenthal, features an eclectic mix of typography and illustration that come together to evoke the proud history and quirkiness of the venue. The witty lines of copy by Kingston Trinder are full of religious references that feel lighthearted and always feel relevant to their situational use. Perrine Grosjean’s illustrations are also biblical in most cases and come to life in animated form on the hotel’s website.
