Humber Street Gallery by Saul Studio
Leeds-based design practice Saul Studio designed the new identity and wayfinding system for Humber Street Gallery, a contemporary art space in Hull, UK. The gallery hosts a range of free exhibitions, talks, performances, screenings and workshops.
The new identity centres around a new logotype, which uses a custom version of SM Maxéville Constructed by Soft Machine Type Foundry, drawing inspiration from Hull’s shipping and market heritage. Yellow has been introduced into the primary colour palette in reference to the building’s former use as a fruit and vegetable warehouse with banana ripening rooms.
