2017 saw Hype Type Studio and SocioDesign redesign the global packaging for Sonos’ wireless sound system with a stripped-back rationalisation of their longstanding existing scheme. The black and white approach reflects the understated design and assured quality of the product within, only communicating the very essential details. It was met with critical acclaim, winning a Dieline award for its application to the Playbase product packaging.

To close out 2019, Sonos has launched three new products: Amp (wireless amplifier), Move (portable speaker) and Port (streaming stereo), and this time Hype Type Studio handle the design alone. Following the success of the launch of the new system, all three products follow suit and are again represented by the minimal approach to typography, photography and colour.
