Elliott MoodyJulia's identity for Divario places the emphasis on the venue's diverse exhibition programme
Divario is a gallery space, located in the Prati district of Rome, that periodically showcases painting, illustration, photography, sculpture, architecture and design through its exhibition and events programme. The venue welcomes artists of all backgrounds and provides them with space, visibility, logistics, promotion and consultation for as long as they are its guests.
‘Divario’ roughly translates from Italian to mean gap, difference or discrepancy. The visual identity by Julia, a studio based in London, Paris and Rome, directly interprets the translation by placing the name at opposite ends of the available canvas, leaving a gap for the diverse range of content to live and breathe. The typeface is a pre-release of Diatype, a warm yet functional interpretation of Karl Gerstner’s ‘Gerstner Programm’ by Swiss type foundry Dinamo.
