Rimowa is one of the leading global manufacturers of functional luxury luggage. In celebration of their 120th anniversary, they commissioned London based studio Commission to design a timeless new identity, and incorporate a wordmark designed by Bureau Mirko Borsche.
Commission developed a new monogram, typographic style, colour palette, pattern motif and packing system. The new monogram references Romowa’s earliest branding from 1898, which is still present outside their store in Cologne. The two points seen in the logo are reflections of the spires of Cologne Cathedral and they are wrapped within a shape that references the soft edges of a Rimowa case.
