Following the successful merge of Sunderland College and Hartlepool Sixth Form in September 2017, Northumberland College has also joined to form the Education Partnership North East. The result is one of the largest academic, professional and technical education colleges in the UK, with an annual turnover of £54 million and over 21,000 students.

London-based Studio Blackburn was asked to create an identity system for the group as a whole and for each individual college. Their solution sees an ultra-bold custom letter, derived from Klim Type’s Founders Grotesk, assigned to each of the colleges, giving them their own stamp while aligning them together as a family.
