Tim Bengel's exhibition features marble gravestones engraved with a custom serif typeface
Contemporary artist Tim Bengel has installed a living cemetery on the border of the Berlin Wall during the city’s Art Week. The exhibition, Graves of our Generations, revolves around the question ‘Why did(n’t) I live?’, and consists of 100 engraved marble gravestones, 10000 flowers and 5 tons of white grit. The masterfully engraved stones feature a bespoke serif typeface named after the artist, created by German type designer Nicolas Bernklau.
