973 Issue 1 by The District

973 is a new magazine exploring the creative culture of Cambridge, UK. Designed, written and edited by local practice The District, it covers art, design, music, architecture, food and drink, technology and everything that occupies the intersections between. The name 973 derives from the year of the first official market in the city, which could be thought of as its first major cultural and creative moment.

The magazine represents an opportunity for The District to create with complete freedom, with no client to answer to. Each new issue will change in size and aesthetic to reflect the content, and smaller pop-up publications will appear along the way.

The magazine is free in hand-picked locations across Cambridge and can be purchased online for those outside the city.
