Northern Irish brew bar and eatery Lost & Found made their home within and found inspiration across their homeland’s dramatic coastlines, authentically becoming part of the furniture since launching in 2014. Keeping community and creativity at their core, Lost & Found pride themselves on their close relationship to their environment and the people that inhabit it.

Having sought a greater visual and strategic alignment across their two locations, Lost & Found turned to Belfast-based branding studio Angel & Anchor to achieve as much; channelling their existing candour, character and personality across a refined aesthetic and structural process. Working closely with the team itself, Angel & Anchor defined the tone of voice, audience, values and messaging for Lost & Found, culminating in a satisfying and friendly visual identity.

Inspired by the passion and craft behind the scenes, the identity is led by the slogan ‘Good Gets Better,’ highlighting as such, as well as referencing the friendly and optimistic attitude of Lost & Found’s team. Similarly, the logomark strikes a notably fun and familiar tone; one created through the introduction of Adam Ladd’s geometric sans serif Gopher, the reverse contrast construction of which lends an organic, minimal and unpretentious voice to the identity.

Alongside the warm, nature-inspired, colour palette is the prominent use of monograms, individually denoting the spirit of the company and their bucolic inspirations. Looking at ancient stone-and-wood-carved symbols within their research, Angel & Anchor were taken by the honesty and beauty behind the simplicity of the process; primarily using only simple forms and lines to construct fundamentally human-made marks.
