Teatro do Bairro Alto is a municipal theatre venue that will be opening soon in Lisbon, Portugal. Before it officially opens, they are hosting a small festival named (Quase) Teatro do Bairro Alto, or (Almost) Teatro do Bairro Alto, to raise awareness of the institution.

Porto-based studio Non-verbal Club designed the identity for festival, keeping in mind that a strong aesthetic could influence the theatre’s yet to be determined identity.

Their solution is based around always using ‘(Quase)’ as a header and ‘Teatro do Bairro Alto‘ as a footer, creating a canvas between the name of the temporary programme and the name of the institution. The line between them acts as an abstract timeline of the events happening before the theatre opens.
