Socio take cues from fashion and luxury in their radiant identity for supplement brand Natural Glow
From British healthcare brand Wild Nutrition, Natural Glow is a supplement that boosts the body’s melanin, collagen and keratin production levels. Aiming to make a splash in suncare, Natural Glow turned to London-based creative agency Socio, who have developed a calm, typographically-led identity and packaging system.
Led by the product’s name, Socio began by defining the identity with a sense of warmth, indicative of the deep summer sun. This idea is immediately translated through a glowing colour palette and prominent use of negative space. The yellow is markedly applied on the product’s recyclable packaging, taking aesthetic cues from the luxury and fashion industries through its restrained, minimalist construction. Set at the heart of the Natural Glow packaging is a circular die cut, which places the product at the front and centre. “It’s intended to be a nod to the sun and also subtlety ties yellow into the box interior,” Socio’s Brendan Smith tells us, “the circle is functional too,” he adds, “helping the user lift the envelope out of the box using their finger.”
Supporting Wild Nutrition’s custom wordmark is the choice of Colophon Foundry’s Basis Grotesque, a pragmatic sans serif with an informative and amicable tone. It’s further accompanied by Gestura, a serif typeface created by Socio themselves that provides elegance and editorial expression to the design. Together, the two allow the identity to effortlessly adapt from composition to composition, enabling the brand to emote in whichever way necessary through the varying uses of the two typefaces.
