Stoic + sustainable: Later Labs and 369 Design Studio’s brand for YNWA Invest AG is expertly brutal
Marking the maiden Munich-based collaboration between Later Labs and 369 Design Studio, the pair’s sober identity for YNWA Invest AG exemplifies the aesthetic and efficient success of pragmatic, brutal graphic styling. The resulting brand personifies the real estate investment company’s expertise and respect in the industry whilst denoting its ambitions. “YNWA Invest AG’s logo embodies the company’s goal of achieving high returns through investments in usufruct properties,” Later Labs Founder, Nenad Miljkovic, tells us. “The logo prominently features the letter ‘Y’ as the company’s initial,” he continues, “creating a strong visual connection to the brand,” whilst the subtle inclusion of an upwards arrow aims to represent growth trajectory and achievements. “The arrow is balanced on the left side by a ‘cube’ element,” he adds, “highlighting the company’s sustainable investment strategy,” and, in doing so, bringing YNWA Invest AG’s philosophy front-and-centre, reflecting their progressive commitment to socially responsible investment.
In order to bolster the brand’s reputation and accentuate the expertise behind the scenes, Later Labs and 369 Design Studio introduced a reserved approach to colour, carefully selecting its hues to balance activity and timelessness. “Grey-blue tones were chosen, with grey serving as the primary colour,” Miljkovic explains, “to communicate neutrality, professionalism, stability, and reliability,” whilst the curated, selective use of blue conveyes the “dynamism and energy” of the brand. “It is often associated with trust, seriousness, and professionalism,” he recalls, “and the strategic use of blue creates focal points and adds visual interest without diminishing its impact.”
“The chosen typeface, Neurial Grotesk, reflects the company’s philosophy and values in a timeless and minimalist manner,” Miljkovic recalls, turning to Indian Type Foundry’s sans serif due to its contemporary tone and versatility. “Its clean and straightforward design conveys transparency and clarity in the investment strategy,” he notes, prioritising accessibility but not at the sacrifice of sophistication. “This contributes to the overall identity,” Miljkovic concludes, “and communicates the company’s commitment to sustainable and socially responsible investment practices.”
