HART is a leading Belgian contemporary art magazine that covers artists, exhibitions and institutions through insightful interviews, essays, reviews and reports, both online and in print every month.

The magazine was founded by journalist Marc Ruyters in January 2006 with an ambition to create an accessible but detailed publication that’s always in touch with the contemporary art culture in Belgium and beyond. Originally published as a newspaper with a portrait of an artist by photographer Jean-Pierre Stoop on the cover, it was disruptive from the start.

Thirteen years on from the launch, the magazine has received a new look thanks to Antwerp-based studio Vrints-Kolsteren, who will continue to oversee the art direction of future issues. They’ve introduced consistency and structure to the typography and layout that allows the content to take the lead. The cover is boldly packed from top to bottom with the imposing HART masthead and a playfully typeset quote that will change with each new issue.
