Layla PanamShape of Words explores contemporary creativity and the transformative impact of the pandemic
Shape of Words, by London-based designer Emma Judd alongside Alice Sherwin and Harry Bennett of Studio Ground Floor, is a printed platform in which contemporary creatives have expressed reactions and contemplations to the factors influencing their practices. Through a variety of contributions such as essays, interviews, fictional narratives, tweets, screenshots, and journal entries, a diverse range of perspectives within the art and design fields, as well as those surrounding them, are depicted. Bound together, these contributions serve as a time capsule, encapsulating the issues and ideas that fuel creativity.
In this inaugural edition, a multitude of voices reflect the profound transformations that unfolded during the COVID-19 pandemic. These transformations were driven by necessity for many, while others were fortunate enough to experience them through self-reflection, benefiting from the time and space available.
