Accompanying an exhibition of the same name, Types We Can Make reflects on the design methodologies taught at Swiss art and design university ECAL and highlights some of its external collaborations. It features typefaces from a selection of graduates as well as contributions from world-class professors such as Ludovic Balland, Cornel Windin and Jonas Voegeli. Types We Can Make extends beyond the typefaces themselves to show their use in a variety of formats: editions of the art magazine Sang Bleu, logos designed for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, artist monographs for Die Gestalten and JRP Ringier and art direction and poster design by Körner Union or Tatiana Rihs.
