Sapsucker is an organic, all-natural and sustainably sourced water product with no added sugar. The naturally alkaline and vitamin-rich beverage is tapped from Canadian trees through environmentally friendly processes. Sapsucker originally entered the market as a flat maple tree water and is now reinvented with a lineup of three sparkling water products: The Original One, The Lime One and The Lemon One.

Toronto-based creative agency Vanderbrand was commissioned by Lower Valley Beverage Company to rebrand Sapsucker in-line with this repositioning. They developed a strategy that targets the brand towards those who ‘enjoy life and live well’, producing the trademarked tagline: ‘Pairs Well with Life’.

The visual identity is strongly informed by Sapsucker’s Canadian roots. The wordmark and accompanying typography take cues from Canadian nostalgia such as local sports apparel and retail packaging. The can design is simple, bold and warm; taking the clutter away in order to stand out in an overcrowded industry.
