Elliott MoodyAccompany's identity for Merino ties together the building company's two distinct services
Merino is a family-owned building company in Sydney that combines two distinct services: construction and consultancy. They operate as separate entities but, depending on the scale of the project, can come together to offer building, carpentry and pre-purchase and pest inspections.
Local design practice Accompany was employed to create Merino’s identity and decided to produce a visual language that could be shared across the two services while offering a distinction between them. They did so by defining a system that revolves around an adaptable M icon that subtly changes its form between Merino Construction and Merino Building Consultants. An electric colour palette of green and orange helps to further separate the two businesses. Letters from Sweden’s Ivar Display Condensed is consistently used for both headlines and body copy, offering a high contrast to the geometric appearence of the mark. The elements come together to form a confident visual language that represents Merino’s can-do attitude and flexible business model.
